The owner of the property wished to replace the existing enclosed staircase and create a new entrance hall/ garden room and first-floor kitchen. The existing kitchen was repurposed into a walk-in wardrobe. The hallway was enlarged slightly to create a more spacious circulation.
We love working with home owners overcoming problems they have been living with for years. We were approached by the owner of an upper floor flat in this property that is in a conservation area. Originally a two-storey detached Victorian cottage, it was converted into two, 1 bedroom flats in the mid-1960s.
The access stair had originally been open but was covered more recently. The owner wanted to gain a bit more space on the ground floor and a larger kitchen.
We were able to make a lovely day room on the ground floor with a new larger kitchen and dressing room. We have managed to bring back the charm and some of the character to the property.
